August updates from The Dog Coaches

Hello!

We’ve been busy bees since we last got in touch! Read more below to see August updates from The Dog Coaches

Classes:

This month, Bec ran our very first course at Headley Park Community Centre since becoming The Dog Coaches. She said it was wonderful to be back after our transition from Dogs Trust. Yuki and Frodo were fantastic first clients- they picked up lots of valuable skills and had great fun along the way. We can’t wait to welcome them back for our 6 months+ class! Here’s a lovely photo of Frodo proudly showing off their certificate at their final class.

BARC:

One of the reasons we’ve been so busy is we’ve been working with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre (Bristol Dogs home for the Bristolians!) We’ve been supporting some of their more challenging dogs with exercise and training. It's been really rewarding to work on the front line of rescue, and help worried dogs grow in confidence. Pictured is lovely Lyla, a bulldog cross, she's super smart and smashing her loose lead walking. You can find out more about the amazing work BARC does on their website.

Coming up in September:

A dog training class taking place outside in a park. There are 4 people in a row, each with a dog sat on a blanket. There is a 5th person who is teaching the class

  • We’ve added a new venue in Downend – King George V Pavillion. We have some spaces left on the puppy and the 6months+ classes.

  • Launching Booster club – a Sunday session in the field to practice skills you've been working on. These sessions are pay weekly sessions to keep you on track.

  • Plenty of spaces for one-to-one sessions in your home and online.

Dog of the month:

Daisy had her first one-to-one with Sam, and her owners left us a glowing review. They told us it was a “great first session” where they learned “lots of great tricks and techniques” to help with Daisy’s reactivity. They also loved training at the Beehive Centre, which gave Daisy the chance to be off-lead in a safe, spacious environment.

Extras:

We did a photo shoot this month, with lots of our dog friends. We even had local trainers Kelly (Shining Eyes Dog Training) and Leah (Hecate Training Academy) come by and help. Here they are trying to get the best angle!

You will see lots of pictures from this day pop up on our socials so don’t forget to subscribe. We are @thedogcoaches
