This is very common during adolescence. Hormonal changes, increased independence, new interests and changes in confidence can all affect behaviour. It doesn't mean your training has failed, your dog is going through an important stage of development, but you may benefit from some extra support during this tricky period!

Can you help if my dog wont focus or pay attention outside the house?

Yes. Many dogs behave very differently at home compared with outside, where there are smells, people, dogs and other distractions. We can work on focus, engagement and gradually increasing your dog's ability to respond around distractions.

Is it too late to start training an adult dog?

Definitely not. Adult dogs are capable of learning new skills and changing established habits. In fact, many owners find that training an adult dog becomes easier once they understand what motivates their individual dog.
